6th Local SOH Forum Review




On 22 June we had our 6th local forum in Harrogate. As usual we shared the challenges we each face on the topic of compassionate and values-centred leadership and governance. We chose to focus on a challenge where the chairman of an organisation had a need to integrate new board directors, ensure their alignment and pave the way for better leadership. The forum members offered their most powerful thoughts and questions and helped the “chairman in the hot-seat” to make four commitments to action as follows:

  • To engage with more people at a personal level in the organisation in order to be more in tune with key issues
  • To pay attention to their personal leadership development needs in order to be of greatest service to others
  • To propose at the next board meeting that the leadership team should have an “away-day” to align them as a team and foster their enthusiasm
  • To include on the agenda for the away-day such matters as the purpose, vision and values of the organisation and of team members

The Harrogate Spirit of Humanity Forum will meet again on the following dates:
